From POOL IS COLD to BRRRUSSELS!
A new name in 2026: POOL IS COLD becomes BRRRUSSELS.
Why the change?
POOL IS COLD first grew around POOL IS COOL’s FLOW pool, the place where Brussels’ cold-water community took its first brave splashes. When FLOW ended, it felt as if winter swimming might disappear too… but instead, it resurfaced!
Thanks to the generosity of Brussels citizens opening their private pools and ponds, the community keeps meeting: for cold dips, hot tea, and warm conversations. Winter swimming moved from a single location into the whole city, and from an activity run by one organisation to a community created by citizens, for citizens.
Whatever happens to POOL IS COOL in these challenging times for NGOs, cold-water swimming is now strong, independent, and alive. Our new name celebrates that: welcome to BRRRUSSELS!
BRRRUSSELS will still be supported by POOL IS COOL behind the scenes with communication tools and practical help, but it is also open to new hands and new ideas.

De POOL IS COLD à BRRRUSSELS !
Un nouveau nom en 2026 : POOL IS COLD devient BRRRUSSELS.
Pourquoi ce changement ?
POOL IS COLD a d'abord vu le jour autour de la piscine FLOW de POOL IS COOL, l'endroit où la communauté bruxelloise des adeptes de l'eau froide a fait ses premiers plongeons courageux. Lorsque FLOW a fermé ses portes, on aurait pu croire que la baignade hivernale allait disparaître elle aussi... mais au contraire, elle a refait surface !
Grâce à la générosité des Bruxellois qui ouvrent leurs piscines et leurs étangs privés, la communauté continue de se réunir : pour des baignades froides, du thé chaud et des conversations chaleureuses. La baignade hivernale est passée d'un seul endroit à toute la ville, et d'une activité gérée par une seule organisation à une communauté créée par les citoyens, pour les citoyens.
Quoi qu'il arrive à POOL IS COOL en ces temps difficiles pour les associations, la baignade en eau froide est désormais forte, indépendante et vivante. Notre nouveau nom célèbre cela : bienvenue à BRRRUSSELS !
BRRRUSSELS continuera d'être soutenu par POOL IS COOL en coulisses avec des outils de communication et une aide pratique, mais il est également ouvert à de nouvelles mains et de nouvelles idées.

Van POOL IS COLD naar BRRRUSSELS!
Een nieuwe naam in 2026: POOL IS COLD wordt BRRRUSSELS.
Waarom deze verandering?
POOL IS COLD ontstond rond het FLOW-zwembad van POOL IS COOL, de plek waar de Brusselse community van koudwaterzwemmers haar eerste moedige duikjes nam.
Toen FLOW stopte, leek het alsof het winterzwemmen ook zou verdwijnen... maar in plaats daarvan kwam het weer boven water!
Dankzij de generositeit van Brusselse burgers die hun privézwembaden en vijvers openstellen, blijft de community elkaar ontmoeten: voor koude duiken, warme thee en hartelijke gesprekken. Winterzwemmen groeide uit van één locatie naar de hele stad, en van een activiteit die door één organisatie werd gerund naar een community die door burgers voor burgers werd gecreëerd.
Wat er ook gebeurt met POOL IS COOL in deze uitdagende tijden voor vzw's, koudwaterzwemmen is nu sterk, onafhankelijk en springlevend. Onze nieuwe naam viert dat: welkom bij BRRRUSSELS!
BRRRUSSELS zal achter de schermen nog steeds worden ondersteund door POOL IS COOL met communicatiemiddelen en praktische hulp, maar staat ook open voor nieuwe krachten en nieuwe ideeën.
Als u graag organiseert, communiceert of een zwemactiviteit in uw zwembad of vijver organiseert, horen we graag van u!
