We finally watched “Men Who Swim”! It took us a while to find the right place, right time and right weather. Thanks to everyone who joined us at the exhibition “You Are Here” in the World Trade Center of Brussels. The movie is hilarious (watch the trailer on the event-page), with many similarities to our work for POOL IS COOL. On the one hand we literally rely on the synchronized efforts of our team, supporters, partners and network to make progress towards outdoor swimming in Brussels. On the other hand it’s reassuring seeing these ordinary guys struggling with life while striving for improbable goals.

Nous avons enfin regardé “Men Who Swim”! Il nous a fallu un certain temps pour trouver le bon endroit, le bon moment et le bon temps. Merci à tous ceux qui se sont joints à nous lors de l'exposition «You Are Here» au World Trade Center de Bruxelles. Le film est hilarant (regardez la bande-annonce sur la page de l'événement), avec beaucoup de similitudes avec notre travail pour POOL IS COOL. D'une part, nous comptons littéralement sur les efforts synchronisés de notre équipe, de nos supporters, de nos partenaires et de notre réseau pour progresser vers la baignade en plein air à Bruxelles. D’un autre côté, il est rassurant de voir ces gars ordinaires se débattre avec la vie tout en luttant pour des objectifs improbables.

We hebben eindelijk de kans gehad om naar "Men Who Swim" te kijken! Het duurde een beetje om de juiste plaats, het juiste moment en het juiste weer te vinden. Dank aan iedereen die ons heeft vergezeld ter plaatse van de tentoonstelling "You Are Here" in het World Trade Center van Brussel. De film is hilarisch (bekijk de trailer op de evenementpagina), met veel overeenkomsten met ons werk voor POOL IS COOL. Aan de ene kant bouwen we letterlijk op de gesynchroniseerde inspanningen van ons team, supporters, partners en netwerk om vooruitgang te boeken naar openluchtzwemmen in Brussel. Aan de andere kant is het geruststellend om te zien hoe deze gewone jongens worstelen met het leven terwijl ze streven naar onwaarschijnlijke doelen.
After the movie we had a good and productive discussion about POOL IS COOL in general, our ambitions and approaches. We received interesting input and it was great to see that the dream of outdoor swimming in Brussels lives in people of very different backgrounds. Everyone had the chance to share their dream swimming destination on our new participative map: place a pin where you want to swim!

Après le film, nous avons eu une bonne discussion productive sur POOL IS COOL en général, nos ambitions et nos approches. Nous avons reçu des contributions intéressantes et c'était formidable de voir que le rêve de la baignade en plein air à Bruxelles est partagé par des personnes d'horizons très différents. Chacun a eu la chance de partager la destination de ses rêves en nageant sur notre nouvelle carte participative: placez une épingle où vous voulez nager!

Na de film hadden we een goede en productieve discussie over POOL IS COOL in het algemeen, onze ambities en benaderingen. We kregen interessante input en het was geweldig om te zien dat de droom van openluchtzwemmen in Brussel wordt gedeeld door mensen met zeer verschillende achtergronden. Iedereen had de kans om zijn droombestemming voor openluchtzwemmen te delen op onze nieuwe participatieve kaart: plaats een pin waar je wilt zwemmen!
