AMAN IMAN ('Water is Life' in Amazigh) is an exhibition and a public programme initiated by Brussels-based artists chépas collective and Jérôme Giller, curator Francesca Masoero / LE 18 (Marrakech) and POOL IS COOL.
AMAN IMAN explores the rule and role of water and the space of the commons in our societies in general and our cities in particular, bringing in dialogue Marrakech and Brussels by gathering artists, researchers, architects and activists based and engaged in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
The exhibition presents works developed by chépas collective, Jerome Giller and Shayma Nader in Morocco and Iran between 2017 and 2019, through residency programmes at Queens Collective, LE 18 and Kooshk residency. The public programme articulates in two moments. The first, curated by LE 18, is a new iteration of the long-term research programme QANAT, which explores the politics and poetics of water, and via the latter the notion of the commons, both in Morocco and beyond. The second, organised by POOL IS COOL, discusses the rules and conditions for inclusive public swimming places, accessible and comfortable for everyone, in the culturally heterogeneous context of Brussels.
The programme is developed in partnership with the Moroccan-Flemish cultural centre Darna and is supported by the Flemish Government, with the contribution of Meet the Neighbours / Creative Europe, and Stimuleringsfonds.

AMAN IMAN ('L'eau, c'est la vie' en amazigh) est une exposition et un programme public initiés par chépas collective et Jérôme Giller, artistes basés à Bruxelles, par la commissaire d’exposition Francesca Masoero / LE 18 (Marrakech) et par POOL IS COOL.
AMAN IMAN explore les enjeux sociaux et politiques que soulèvent l'eau et les espaces des biens communs dans nos sociétés en général et dans nos villes en particulier, en engageant un dialogue entre Marrakech et Bruxelles via une programmation qui réunie des artistes, des chercheurs, des architectes et des activistes engagés en Europe, en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient.
L'exposition présente des œuvres réalisées au Maroc et Iran entre 2017 et 2019 par le collectif chépas collective, Jerome Giller et Shayma Nader. Les œuvres ont été produites lors de résidences artistiques réalisées au Queens Collective, à LE 18 à Marrakech et à Kooshk residency..
Le programme public s'articule en deux temps. Le premier temps, organisé par LE 18, est une nouvelle itération du programme de recherche à long terme QANAT, qui explore la politique et la poétique de l’eau au Maroc et au-delà, et à travers cette problématique, la notion de bien commun. Le second temps, organisé par POOL IS COOL, abordera les règles et les conditions de création d'un lieu de baignade public inclusif, accessible et confortable pour tous, dans le contexte culturel hétérogène de Bruxelles.
La programmation AMAN IMAN est développée en partenariat avec la maison des cultures maroco-flamande Darna et bénéficie du soutien du gouvernement flamand, avec la contribution de Meet the Neighbours / Creative Europe, et de Stimuleringsfonds.

AMAN IMAN ('Water is leven' in Amazigh) is een tentoonstelling en een publiek programma geïnitieerd door chépas collective en Jérôme Giller, curator Francesca Masoero / LE 18 (Marrakech) en POOL IS COOL.
AMAN IMAN onderzoekt de heerschappij en de rol van water en de ruimte van het gemeengoed in onze samenlevingen in het algemeen en in onze steden in het bijzonder. Het brengt Marrakech en Brussel in dialoog door kunstenaars, onderzoekers, architecten en activisten samen te brengen die zich engageren in Europa, Noord-Afrika en het Midden-Oosten.
De tentoonstelling presenteert werken die tussen 2017 en 2019 in Marokko en Iran werden ontwikkeld door chépas collective, Jerome Giller en Shayma Nader, via residentieprogramma's in Queens Collective, LE 18 en Kooshk Residency. Het publieke programma bestaat uit twee momenten. Het eerste moment, gecureerd door LE 18, is een nieuwe iteratie van het langlopende onderzoeksprogramma QANAT, dat de politiek en de poëzie van het water verkent, en via het laatste de notie van de commons, zowel in Marokko als daarbuiten. Het tweede moment, georganiseerd door POOL IS COOL, bespreekt de regels en voorwaarden voor inclusieve openbare zwemplekken, toegankelijk en comfortabel voor iedereen, in de cultureel heterogene context van Brussel.
Het programma wordt ontwikkeld in samenwerking met het Marokkaans-Vlaams cultureel centrum Darna en wordt ondersteund door de Vlaamse overheid, met de bijdrage van Meet the Neighbours / Creative Europe, en Stimuleringsfonds.
